"Will never allow Congress to take away women's gold" says BJP's Amravati candidate Navnit Rana

Amravati (Maharashtra) [India], April 26 : BJP candidate from Amravati, Navnit Rana on Friday cast her vote as she attempts to retain the seat which she had won as an independent candidate in 2019. Speaking after casting her franchise Rana launched a scathing attack on the Congress manifesto and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
Rana questioned Rahul Gandhi's maturity and criticized the Congress' alleged intentions to seize and redistribute wealth, specifically targeting the gold and property of women.
"What else can we expect from a 52-year-old Rahul Gandhi? If someone talks about seizing women's wealth, what more can we expect from him? People from the Congress party say that Rahul has become mature. If it takes someone 52 years to become mature, I don't have much to say about it," Rana said.
Rana's comments followed similar statements by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who earlier said that the Congress party has set its eyes on people's hard-earned wealth, property, and 'mangalsutra' of women, and plans to seize and redistribute it.
Rana further emphasized the importance of the constitution in protecting citizens' rights, saying that she would fight for those rights.
"The Constitution of this country, written by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, is designed to protect the rights of every citizen. As long as the sun exists, the Constitution will remain, and we will continue to fight for those rights. For a 52-year-old mature like him (Rahul Gandhi), it will take more 50 years to snatch away the gold and property of women," Rana said.
Rana expressed confidence in the electorate, noting their commitment to the country's welfare.
"The second phase of polling is going on in Amravati. I did the recital of Hanuman Chalisa, and took the blessings of elder members of my family. My people of Amravati understand that voting is for the country, and today, they will give their blessings by voting 100% for their daughter-in-law and a small party worker," Rana concluded.
Maharashtra, with its 48 Lok Sabha seats, is the second-largest contributor to the lower house of Parliament after Uttar Pradesh.
Eight Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra are going to polls today in the second phase.
Voting will be held in Buldhana, Akola, Amravati, Wardha, Yavatmal-Washim, Hingoli, Nanded, and Parbhani constituencies from 7 am to 6 pm.
The polls for the five parliamentary seats in Maharashtra were held in the first phase of polling on April 19.
The elections for the rest of the constituencies will take place in Maharashtra on May 7, May 13, and May 20.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP won 23 out of 25 contested seats, while the undivided Shiv Sena secured 18 out of 23 seats.
The undivided NCP, part of the opposition alliance, contested 19 seats and won four in the 2019 Lok Sabha election. Following the split in the Shiva Sena 2022, the Eknath Shinde faction aligned with the BJP.
The first phase of polling for the 18th Lok Sabha elections was held on Friday. The polling was held in 108 parliamentary constituencies spread over 21 states and Union Territories.
