'Induction of African Union into G20 biggest achievement': Dharmendra Pradhan on Leaders' Summit

New Delhi [India], September 11 : Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday termed the induction of the African Union into G20 as the biggest achievement of the G20 New Delhi summit, and he said that credit for this goes to India as well as Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 
"When we assumed the G20 presidency from Indonesia, PM Modi said that we wanted to reflect the aspirations of the Global South. He called the forum of the nations of the Global South and asked them about their aspirations and expectations that India will represent in the G20. Hence the biggest achievement of this summit is the induction of the African Union into the G20. The credit for this goes to India as well as Prime Minister Narendra Modi," Pradhan said while speaking to ANI. 
"Under the leadership of PM Modi, the G20 Summit has been successfully concluded. September 8, 9, and 10 have been written on the history of the universe in golden letters," he added. 
Meanwhile, most of the international media have praised India for forging consensus for the G20 Leaders' Declaration and praised the country and spoken of its rising clout as the voice of the Global South. 
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Monday said that the New Delhi G20 Leaders Declaration showed that India's presidency was able to table ideas, shape global issues, bridge divides, and forge consensus. 
In a post on X, Jaishankar said that the focus, throughout the Summit, was kept on Global South and the contemporary achievements were highlighted during the two-day long event.
"The G20 Summit and its bilateral meetings concluded today in New Delhi. The New Delhi Declaration shows that our Presidency was able to table ideas, shape global issues, bridge divides, and forge consensus. We kept the focus on the Global South. We showcased our civilizational heritage even as we highlighted contemporary achievements," Jaishankar posted on X. 
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday announced the conclusion of the G20 Summit here and proposed to hold a virtual G20 session in November to review the suggestions and proposals made at the premier forum for international economic cooperation.
