Navi Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], September 12: On 8 September 2024, the International Youth Development Fund (IYDF), in collaboration with Ray of Hope Ministries (Ashalay Orphanage), held a heartwarming charity event. At the Ashalay Orphanage in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, 49 orphaned children received essential donations, including food, stationery, and sports equipment, from IYDF and supporting businesses. This event aimed to provide both material assistance and emotional care to the children.
Volunteers and Donations: A Team Effort
A team of eight volunteers supported the event, contributing their time and energy to ensure its success. The volunteers included Vikash Patel, Ratan Prasad, Raj Alam, Shrutika Sakat, Dhruvi Mehta, Vaishnavi Sonawane, Nidhi Patel, and Priyanka Kumari. They not only distributed donations but also engaged the children in interactive activities, bringing smiles and joy to their faces.
The donated items covered a wide range of needs, including:
* Food supplies: Providing basic nutritional food for the children.
* Groceries: Helping meet daily living needs.
* Sports equipment: Encouraging the children to participate in outdoor activities and develop healthy habits.
* Stationery: Supporting the children's education and motivating them to pursue knowledge.
These donations helped address the orphanage's immediate supply shortages and supported the children's education and growth.

Laughter and Interaction During the Event
The event began at 3:00 PM, with a cheerful atmosphere prevailing throughout. In addition to distributing supplies, the volunteers played games and danced with the children, filling the day with warmth and joy. The children's smiles were the best reward for the volunteers' efforts.
Manoj Magar, the manager of Ashalay Orphanage, expressed his gratitude to IYDF and the volunteer team, saying, "These supplies mean a great deal to us, especially at this time. The children not only received the necessities but also felt the love and care from the wider community."
Reflections from the Volunteers
Event organiser Ranjan Sharma shared, "My team and I are thrilled to spread happiness and offer support through events like this. Seeing the children smile truly highlights the value of giving back to society." Other volunteers echoed this sentiment, stating that the event gave them a sense of joy and fulfilment by contributing to the well-being of vulnerable children.
This event not only provided material assistance to the children of Ashalay Orphanage but also supported their education and development. IYDF plans to collaborate with more local businesses in the future to continue offering care and support to children in need.
