"Maha Kumbh will be historic and divine, anticipating participation of 50 crore people": Keshav Maurya

Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh) [India], July 7 : Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Sunday said that the festival of Kumbh next year will be magnificent and will witness the participation of about 50 crore people.
The Maha Kumbh Mela will take place from January 14 to February 26, 2025, in Prayagraj.
The remarks of Maurya came while he was speaking with the reporters after he participated in the Pran Pratishtha and idol installation of Shri Narmadeshwar Shiv Temple located in Umarpur Niwan of Prayagraj district.
Maurya said, "The Kumbh of 2025 will be historic, grand and divine and it is expected that almost 50 crore people will participate in the Kumbh from all around the world."
As part of the Yogi Adityanath government's preparations for the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh Minister AK Sharma on Saturday said that all the development works will be completed before Kumbh Mela 2025.
Speaking on the preparations for the grand event, the Uttar Pradesh Minister said, "Ahead of Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, development projects including construction of Pontoon bridges, roads to facilitate transport of tourists, devotees are underway...A review meeting was conducted to take stock of the developments...All the development works will be completed before Maha Kumbh Mela 2025... We will provide the visitors with a supernatural experience of this divine and grand Kumbh," Sharma said.
Earlier, the Uttar Pradesh government announced to provide subsidies for the transformation of dhabas, restaurants, and hotels on the major routes to offer improved facilities to tourists and devotees attending the festival.
The festival will begin on January 13, 2025, with the Poush Purnima bathing festival and end on February 26, 2025, with Maha Shivaratri. The main bathing festival, known as the "Shahi Snan" (royal baths), will take place on January 14 (Makar Sankranti), January 29 (Mauni Amavasya), and February 3 (Basant Panchami).
Meanwhile, the deputy Chief Minister also took to his official X handle and posted about his visit to the Narmadeshwar Shiv Temple. He said, "Received the blessings of Lord Shiva by doing Pran Pratishtha and idol installation of Shri Narmadeshwar Shiv Temple located in Umarpur Niwan of Prayagraj district and by performing Havan-Yagna rituals."

He added, "I prayed for the good health and prosperity of the devotees, local people and the people of the state."
In another post, Maurya said, "I express my heartfelt gratitude to the party officials, workers and local people for the welcome and greeting given to me on my arrival at Bamrauli Airport of Sangam in Prayagraj to participate in the Pran Pratishtha programme of Shri Narmadeshwar Shiva Temple, Prayagraj."
