"We will achieve a bigger victory than 2019": Uttarakhand CM Dhami exudes confidence on BJP's victory

Pauri Garhwal (Uttarakhand) [India], March 27 : Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a public meeting in support of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Anil Baluni from Garhwal Lok Sabha seat at Ramlila Maidan in Pauri Garhwal.
Exuding confidence about BJP's victory in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Chief Minister said, "This time there is a discussion of crossing 400 in the whole country. We will together achieve a bigger victory than 2019 in the 2024 Lok Sabha."
Addressing a rally, he further said, "We are working to make Uttarakhand the best state under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Under his leadership, work is going on many important development schemes in Garhwal. Work is going on the Rishikesh-Karnaprayag rail line and Badrinath master plan. Today, one can reach Badrinath or any area of Garhwal from Rishikesh in just few hours. Rail and road air connectivity have also strengthened under the leadership of the Prime Minister."
He added, "Char Dham was developed under PM Modi's leadership. The central and state governments are continuously working together for the betterment and development of the state. The Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) law was implemented, and various schemes are being run for the welfare of the poor."
"Uttarakhand has become the first state to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). Our government has fulfilled the promises that were made before the elections. After implementing the anti-copying law, thousands of appointments have been made. To promote the daughters of the state, the state government has made a provision of 30 percent horizontal reservation for women," Dhami further said.
The Uttarakhand CM also appealed to people to vote for BJP candidate Anil Baluni.
Addressing the same rally, Union Minister Smriti Irani asked people whether they would vote for a party (Congress) that rejected the invitation for the 'pran pratishtha' of the Ram temple.

"Will any of you vote for a party (Congress) that denied the invitation for the 'pranpratishtha' of the Ram temple? Will any of you vote for the ideology of the Congress party that considers Hindus as terrorists?,"asked Irani while addressing the rally.
Earlier on Tuesday, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Anil Baluni filed his nomination papers from the Garhwal constituency for the Lok Sabha elections.
Addressing the event, BJP leader Anil Baluni said, "In the last one week, I have met so many local residents, and as soon as people see the BJP's flag, they start shouting 'Modi-Modi'. The people have taken elections in their hands, and that is because of the BJP's ten years of governance under PM Modi."
Notably, the Garhwal Lok Sabha constituency is one of the five Lok Sabha constituencies in Uttarakhand. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP candidate Tirath Singh Rawat emerged victorious with a margin of 3,02,669 votes as compared to his Congress rival Manish Khanduris who managed to secure 2,04,311 votes.
The 2024 elections will see a battle between BJP leader Anil Baluni and Congress leader Ganesh Godiyal.The upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Uttarakhand, will once again follow the old trend, with elections being held in the first phase on April 19.

The 2024 general elections will be held in India in seven phases, from April 19 to June 1 to elect the 543 members of the 18th Lok Sabha. The results will be announced on June 4.
