38 lakh looted from collection agents, 3 robbers arrested

New Delhi, July 22 (ANI): Solving the sensational robbery of Rs 38 lakh from collection agents, Delhi Police has arrested three robbers Abu Bakar, Jeeshan, and Asif. With their arrest, Rs 21,72,000 cash, one Eeco van and one stolen motorcycle have been recovered from their possession. On July 15, victim Anit Kumar Yadav and Chhatar Singh were on their way to Chandni Chowk in an auto-rickshaw after collecting the cash payment of 38 lakhs from various shopkeepers in Lajpat Nagar. When the auto-rickshaw reached Defence Colony Flyover at Lala Lajpat Rai Marg, it was waylaid by four persons who were on two bikes. They allegedly threw chilly powder in their eyes and escaped carrying the bag with them. After the analysis of a number of CDRs, dump data and CCTV footage, two suspect numbers of Abu Bakar and Zeeshan were zeroed in. One of the mobile phones was found running in Shriniwaspuri, Delhi. The Police team rushed to the said location and both the accused persons were nabbed from their hideouts at Shriniwaspuri. One more team apprehended the other accused Asif with his girlfriend from Panipat, Haryana who was on his way to Manali, Himachal Pradesh to evade arrest. Further efforts are being made to arrest other co-accused persons.
