DFCCIL Gears Up for Mahakumbh 2025: Transforming Freight and Passenger Travel
Dec 14, 2024
The Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) is revolutionizing India’s logistics landscape through its Eastern and Western Freight Corridors, enhancing freight capacity, reducing transit times, and strengthening trade competitiveness. DFCCIL is committed to boosting connectivity and economic growth by linking industries and regions seamlessly. Ahead of MAHAKUMBH 2025, DFCCIL aims to handle 100% goods trains on the Eastern Corridor, decongesting passenger routes and facilitating additional special trains. During an inspection at the Operation Control Centre in Prayagraj, Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw discussed the integration of advanced technologies like Centralized Traffic Control (CTC) and KAVACH, modeled on European and Australian systems. These innovations promise safer, efficient rail logistics by enabling real-time monitoring and collision prevention. DFCCIL’s record-breaking interchange of 770 trains on December 9 underscores its operational excellence. The organization also showcased its transformative solutions, including Trucks-on-Trains, High-Speed Small Cargo, and Gati Shakti Cargo Terminals, at the Rising Rajasthan Summit 2024 and InnoRail 2024. By embracing technology and fostering strategic partnerships, DFCCIL is redefining India’s freight transportation, driving economic growth, and aligning with global logistics standards.
