“Islamic Republic of Bihar…” BJP slams Govt’s decision to cut down on Hindu Holidays Calendar

Patna (Bihar) November 28 (ANI): The Nitish Kumar-led government has landed in a controversy concerning school holidays in the state. The Bihar government has slashed the school holidays during Janmashtami, Rakshabandhan, and Shivratri festivals. However, the state government has granted three holidays during the Eid and Bakrid festival. This move has not gone well with opposition party. The Bharatiya Janata Party on November 28 launched a fresh attack against the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government for allegedly decreasing the number of holidays for the state's schools during Hindu festivals and increasing it for Muslim festivals. BJP slammed the Bihar govt and called their decision "appeasement". BJP MP Ashwini Choubey claimed that once again the anti-Hindu face of the JDU-RJD government has come to the fore, alleging that the Bihar government "hates Sanatan for vote bank." BJP leader Shandilya Giriraj Singh called Bihar the "Islamic Republic of Bihar."
