J&K: Farmers of Butho village produce over 1500 quintals of organic shallot onion in Bandipora

Bandipora (J&K), Aug 27 (ANI): Farmers of high altitude hamlet of Butho village are producing over 1500 quintals of organic shallot onion, commonly known as ‘Praan’ in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora. They used traditional methods of cultivation through organic farming. These shallots are costliest and long-lasting and are often used in ‘Wazwan’ in marriage ceremonies. Mainly, Butho village became the first village in the entire UT to produce organic shallots.
