Baramulla (J&K), January 04 (ANI): In a collaboration between the Indian Army and Aseem Foundation Pune, an initiative is underway in the border village situated along the Line of Control (LoC) of North Kashmir. Gaggar Hill village, situated in the Boniyar Tehsil of Uri, took the centre stage in this noteworthy project led by the Torna Battalion. This cooperative endeavour has equipped 16 households in Gaggar Hill with solar lights and inverters, leveraging the potential of solar energy to address reliable lighting. Beyond meeting immediate needs, the project places a strong emphasis on environmental sustainability. Residents now relish an uninterrupted 24/7 electricity supply, a luxury that was previously absent. The initiative brought joy, enabling families to watch television and children to study during the night, a prospect that was once a distant dream for the residents.
