Apr 16, 2019
ennai, Apr 16 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday questioned the ruling party BJP for opposing 50% VVPAT counting. “It is available in the ballet box, 50% just like currency, there is only name and symbols, you can segregate and count it within no time. These (BJP) people are saying six days why six days I am asking, they have to answer that.” “What I am asking today while respecting Supreme Court, we are demanding 50% VVPAT counting it will give more credibility to election commission and also it will create more trust on voters, to create confidence and trust, vote is very-very important,” said Naidu. In the first phase of Lok Sabha elections that took place on April 11, all 25 Parliamentary seats in the state and its 175 Assembly went to polls. Naidu has alleged that at least 30 to 40 voting in his state did not work properly on Thursday and has demanded a re-poll in almost 150 polling booths. The Andhra Pradesh CM also accused the poll panel of working on the instructions of the Centre.
