Massive protest by BJP in Bengaluru, Hubbali over arrest of Babri Masjid demolition riots accused

Bengaluru, Hubbali (Karnataka), January 03 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party unit of Karnataka held a massive protest in Bengaluru and Hubbali on January 03 against the state government. They protested against the Congress government for reopening a 31-year-old case and arresting Hindu activist Srikanta Pujari. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) worker from Karnataka, Srikanta Pujari was arrested on December 31 in connection with the Babri Masjid demolition riots of 1992. The BJP Workers raised slogans against the Congress government, held anti-Congress slogans, and demanded Srikanta’s release. BJP leaders of Karnataka BJP President BY Vijayendra, and Sadananda Gowda were present in Bengaluru during the protest.Congress leader Jagadish Shettar spoke on the arrest of RSS Worker Srikanta Pujari and said that the case was pending for a long time and has been opened to solve the long-lasting issue instead of the purpose of harassing the BJP of the state. "It is a 30-year-old case and even BJP ruled the state for so many years, I think 7-8 years but at that time why they did not think about withdrawing all these cases against the Hindu activists...It (the case) is not intentionally opened for harassment purposes. The case has been pending for a long time, so there must be some direction from the courts as well. Police took action after looking at all the aspects," said Jagadish Shettar.
