Mumbai, June 14 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended Dwishatabdi Mahotsav of Mumbai Samachar on June 14 in Mumbai. He congratulated Mumbai Samachar for completing its 200 years.While addressing the event, PM Modi said, “Hearty congratulations to the readers, journalists, employees of Mumbai Samachar on the 200th anniversary of this historic newspaper. Mumbai News has given voice to the concerns of many generations in these two centuries. Regional newspapers played an important role in the independence struggle.” “Under the influence of foreigners, when this city became Bombay, even then this newspaper did not leave its local connect, did not break its connection with its roots. It was a normal Mumbaikar’s newspaper even then and it is the same today”, he added.
