Kathmandu (Nepal), July 25 (ANI): Eighteen people were killed when a small passenger plane belonging to Nepal's Saurya Airlines crashed and caught fire while taking off from the capital Kathmandu on July 24. Relatives and loved ones of victims mourned outside the Tribhuvan University Institute of Medicine, where a post-mortem of the bodies was due to take place. The plane, carrying two crew members and 17 technicians, was going for regular maintenance to Nepal's new Pokhara airport, which opened in January last year and is equipped with aircraft maintenance hangars, they said. According to Tej Bahadur Poudyal, the spokesman for Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport, the captain was the only person on board to have survived the crash, and is receiving treatment at hospital.
