Jul 28, 2024
New Delhi, July 28 (ANI): Families of Tanya Soni and Shreya Yadav, who tragically died in the Old Rajender Nagar flood incident, were devastated by the news of their children's deaths. Uncle of Shreya Yadav even informed that he was not shown face of her deceased niece when he asked for identification. He further demanded a case of culpable homicide lodged against the owner of the coaching institute. Speaking to ANI, uncle of Shreya Yadav said, “I received no information officially, either from the coaching institute or administration. I saw the news and approached there, I went to the mortuary and asked them to show me the face for identification but they denied saying it was a police case. They showed me a paper where her (Shreya Yadav) name was written... When the news of students being deceased started coming up since I was there with her at the time of her admission, I called the coaching institute, they said we couldn't tell the name but two causalities had happened... Those who have given birth, only know the value of life and it shouldn't be lost due to mismanagement. I demand that a case of culpable homicide should be lodged against the owner of the coaching institute...” Notably, in a tragic incident that unfolded on July 27 in Delhi’s old Rajendra Nagar, 3 UPSC aspirants including Shreya Yadav and Tanya Soni succumbed to death as the basement of popular IAS coaching institute was flooded with water. Irate students also protested against the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and the management of an IAS coaching institute for the negligence that cost 3 lives.
