New Delhi, June 16 (ANI): With India hosting the first Special ASEAN-India Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Delhi, Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on June 16 welcomed all his counterparts, and said that ASEAN has provided a foundation for the evolving strategic and economic architecture in the Indo-Pacific. “It is heartening that we're meeting in person for first ASEAN-India Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Delhi even so COVID-19 has not fully abated. This path has become even more arduous with geopolitical headwinds which we faced due to developments in Ukraine,” the Union Minister said. “ASEAN has always stood tall as a beacon of regionalism, multilateralism, and globalisation. It has successfully carved out a niche for itself in the region and provided a foundation for the evolving strategic and economic architecture in the Indo-Pacific,” he added.
