Massive gathering of Shiva devotees for darshan at Kashi Vishwanath Temple on 'Sawan Shivratri'

Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh) [India], August 2 : Shiva devotees on Friday arrived at Kashi Vishwanath Temple to offer prayers on the occasion of Shivratri in the holy month of Sawan.
The Sawan Shivratri is on August 2 and there is immense enthusiasm among Shiva devotees in Varanasi because Shivratri has a very special significance in Sawan.

Sawan Shivratri holds a unique significance, making this celebration even more special. Today, the darshan and worship of Baba Vishwanath also has special significance. Shivaratri of Sawan in Varanasi is not only important from the point of view of religious faith, but is also a festival that shows the path of self-purification.

The Kanwar Yatra procession witnesses Kanwariyas collecting water from a river and carrying it hundreds of kilometres to offer it to the Lord Shiva shrines.
The Kanwar Yatra is a pilgrimage that took place from July 22 and will come to an end on August 2 on Shivratri.
