Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], July 19 : Former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Digivijaya Singh and state Congress chief Jitu Patwari on Friday complained to Bhopal's Commissioner of Police (CP) about a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker who held a Sunderkand path inside a police station and demanded action into the matter.
Congress leaders alleged that a Sunderkand Path was recited inside Ashoka Garden police station in the state capital Bhopal on the occasion of the birthday of BJP worker Naresh Jadhav on Thursday.
Following which, the Congress also sought permission to recite Sunderkand Path in TT Nagar police station on the occasion of Congress worker's birthday on Saturday.
After meeting with Bhopal's Commissioner of Police, Congress leader Patwari said, "The Commissioner of Police has asked for two days' time to look into the matter. If no action is taken in two days, then we will decide our upcoming strategy."
"A hobby has been made by the employees in Madhya Pradesh to break the rules of the service book. The incident occurred yesterday is a message of violation of oath taken to the service book. Action should have been taken into matter till now and TI (police station in charge) should have been removed," Patwari said.
Congress party has demanded either they follow the rules of the service book or give permission to the Congress party to recite Sunderkand Path in all police stations in Bhopal, the Congress party chief said.
"Either TI should be suspended following the rules of the service book or give permission to us," he added.
On the other hand, Bhopal Commissioner of Police, Harinarayanchari Mishra told reporters, "The Congress delegation submitted a memorandum today. Sometimes, there are temples and shrines in the police station and events are held there but no permission is given to a private person. A show cause notice has been issued to the police station in-charge."
Notably, former CM Digvijaya Singh, State Congress President Jitu Patwari, Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar along with congress workers were going to Ashoka Garden police station to register an FIR against state Minister Vishwas Sarang in connection with the nursing scam on Thursday. But the congress leaders were stopped outside the police station citing that Sunderkand path was being recited in the police station, they should submit their application outside the premises.
Besides, Congress leader PC Sharma wrote a letter to TT Nagar police incharge dated July 18 and sought permission to organise a Sunderkand Path inside the police station on Saturday, July 20 on the occasion on his party worker's birthday.
"It is requested that the birthday of our Congress worker Bunty Jain is on July 20. We all want to organise a Sunderkand Path in TT Nagar police station on his birthday to pray for his long life. Just like the permission was granted for reciting Sunderkand path on Thursday, July 18 on the birthday of BJP worker Naresh Jadhav in Ashoka Garden police station. In the same way, permission should be granted to us to organise Sunderkand path on Saturday, July 20 in TT Nagar police station," Sharma wrote in the letter.
