New Delhi [India], July 17 : After Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya's post on X stating "Organisation bigger than government", set political temperatures soaring BJP leader and Union Minister BL Verma played down the issue.
Verma told ANI, "I am also a party worker. We all respect the party workers. Organisational work is done by organisations, and the government does the governmental work... Organisations and governments are working together for the development of the state (UP). Both the organisation and the government have their places. The organisation and government complement each other."
Regarding the meeting with UP Deputy CM Maurya, UP BJP President Bhupendra Chowdhary and BJP National President JP Nadda, BL Verma said that these formal and informal discussions and meetings keep happening, and there is no need to assess them.
"Is BJP is engaging in brainstorming sessions to discuss its recent losses in Uttar Pradesh. Replied on this Verma said Union minister BL Verma told ANI, 'We will move forward. Contemplation and brainstorming are essential, regardless of the outcome. Our goal for 2027 is to emerge victorious in all elections and hoist the BJP flag high."
In the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, the BJP managed to win only 33 seats out of 80, while the Samajwadi Party won 37, a poor performance for the BJP, which won 61 seats in the 2019 general elections.
BL Verma added that "The state working committee is an integral part of the organization's program, alongside the district working committee and national working committee, which are all essential components of the organization's structure. The BJP is unique in having dedicated and loyal workers who work tirelessly with devotion 365 days a year.
KP Maurya made no comments to media persons as he left the BJP headquarters in the national capital following the meeting. Party sources also mentioned that JP Nadda also met with UP BJP Chief Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary.
