10 injured after bus carrying migrant workers overturns in Andhra's Srikakulam

Srikakulam (Andhra Pradesh) [India], May 26 : 10 passengers were injured after a private bus carrying migrant workers overturned near Mandasa town in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday.
The bus was travelling from Bengaluru to Kolkata transporting stranded migrant workers amid the fourth phase of nationwide lockdown.
Mandasa Police station Sub Inspector Prasad informed ANI, "A bus from Bangalore to Kolkata was passing by National Highway near Mandasa before the bus overturned due to overspeeding."
According to Prasad, there were 41 passengers apart from the driver and cleaner on the bus. Out of which, 10 passengers were injured.
"Nobody was critically injured and have been taken to Palasa government hospital," he added.
"Driver and cleaner have absconded after the mishap. A case will be registered and investigation will begin soon. A search for driver and cleaner has been launched," he further said.
