Guna (Madhya Pradesh) [India], November 8 : In a shocking incident, a 10-year-old girl was raped and was found in an unconscious state at the spot in Madhya Pradesh's Guna district, a police officer said.
The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of Myana police station in the district on Wednesday night. On getting the information, the police rushed to the site and sent the minor to the district hospital and later she was referred to Bhopal for further treatment, the police added.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP, Guna) Vivek Ashthana told ANI, "A woman along with her 10-year-old daughter came to a village to sell maize and grind wheat (in a haat bazaar). After completing her task, when she was returning with her daughter, an unidentified person around 30 years old on a bike intervened and said that some money of maize was left and he would help to get it from the shopkeeper."
The man then took them on his bike. A moment later, he dropped the woman and said that he would go with the minor and bring the money back. After that the accused took the minor to a jungle and committed the crime, the police said.
Upon receiving information, the police arrived at the spot and with the help of dial 100 and the police station in charge, the minor was sent to the district hospital. As the minor was bleeding, she was referred to Bhopal for further treatment, he added.
"We have registered an FIR into the matter and formed four teams to nab the accused. The Superintendent of Police (SP) has also announced a reward of Rs 10,000 on the arrest of the accused. Efforts are on and we will arrest the accused soon," DSP Ashthana said.
Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Congress chief Jitu Patwari took a jibe at the state government saying that there was no rule of law in the state but a jungle raj and the government was worthless.
"I say this again and again that there is no rule of law in Madhya Pradesh but a jungle raj. There is no power left in the government to keep daughters safe here. 20 women are raped every day in the state and the rape of 10-year-old girl in Guna is its validation. Now we don't expect the government to do anything. We know they can't do anything. Therefore, we are running a public awareness campaign. We will create a sense of self-social equation and social awareness. The government is worthless," Patwari told ANI.
Additionally, MP Minister Krishna Gaur hit back at Patwari's remark and said that the state BJP government was very sensitive towards women and continuous efforts were being made to ensure the safety of women in the state.
"The BJP government is a very sensitive government towards women and continuous efforts are being made to ensure that adequate safety should be given to women. Wherever such an incident happens, the Chief Minister has directed the officers to take immediate action. You must have noticed that wherever incidents happen, the accused gets caught immediately and action is taken against them," Gaur told ANI.
She further added that Congress knew the definition of Jungle Raj better because Jungle Raj used to operate in the Congress itself. Therefore, Congress did not see anything other than Jungle Raj.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) works on the rule of law and works on good governance and in this regard, it takes immediate action against the injustice that happens to anyone, she added.
