Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], October 1 : Vande Bharat Express trains were cleaned in just 14 minutes as part of the ‘14 Minutes Miracle’ challenge at railway stations in Chennai on Sunday, said officials.
The ‘14 Minutes Miracle’ challenge was done at Chennai Central Railway Station and Chennai Egmore Railway Station.
14-minute miracle” scheme was launched today at Terminal Stations across Indian Railways as part of the ‘Swachhata-Hi-Seva’ campaign.
Eerya Bhukya Vishwanath, Divisional Railway Manager, Southern Railway, said the challenge at Chennai stations was successful.
"We completed it in 14 minutes time. This way we can quickly take to the next destination and we will save time. For cleaning, We have engaged four employees each per coach," Vishwanath said.
Officials said that cleaning in 14 minutes is similar to the cleanliness mechanism followed for the bullet trains in Japan.
More than 32 Vande Bharat trains across the nation will adopt this swift cleaning mechanism, making it a daily affair.
Emulating the rapid cleaning procedures witnessed in Japan’s Bullet Trains, where they achieve a cleaning time of 7 minutes, this new endeavor by Indian Railways is poised to redefine the standards for train cleanliness.
A process that once consumed 3-4 hours will now be executed within a mere 15 minutes, top sources of Ministry of Railways informed ANI.
