7th International Day of Diplomats celebrated across the world

New Delhi [India], October 25 : The 7th International Day of Diplomats was celebrated by diplomats across the world on Tuesday.
Posting on the occasion, diplomat Abhay K. wrote on X --"Wishing all the #Diplomats around the world a very happy #InternationalDiplomatsDay from #India today! Thank you for #ServingPeopleGlobally and making our planet a better place."
Meanwhile, Souef Mohamed Al-amine, former foreign minister of Comoros and Special representative of the African Union Commission for Somalia and Head of the African Union Transition Mission took to X and said that it was created to highlight the role of diplomats in maintaining the world peace.
"Today we celebrate "International Day of Diplomats", in conjunction with #UNDay @UN. It was created to highlight the role of diplomats in maintaining world #Peace. Diplomats play an essential role in facilitating negotiations, promoting international cooperation and resolving conflicts peacefully," Souef Mohamed Al-amine posted on X.
"It's also an opportunity to salute the work of all the world's diplomats, who work to promote #Peace, #security and global development. Let's take advantage of this day to express our gratitude to these men and women diplomats and their commitment to a better world," he added.
International Day of Diplomats is celebrated on 24 October every year.
The idea of celebrating an International Day of Diplomats was proposed by Indian diplomat Abhay K. to remember the diplomats of every country who play a vital role in maintaining world peace.
He also organized the first International Day of Diplomats in Brasilia on 24 October 2017.
