New Delhi [India], September 1 : BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj, along with other BJP workers, held a public rally against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday for failing to provide clean drinking water in the slums of Malviya Nagar, Delhi.
The MP criticised the Delhi government for ignoring the people of Malviya Nagar. "For a decade, the Aam Aadmi Party government is not doing its job for the people of Delhi. Today we are here at Indira camp and Valmiki basti in Malviya Nagar, and the people here are outraged with their conditions", said the BJP MP.
The MP further said that the Arvind Kejriwal government has not fulfilled its promises of providing drinking water to the people in the area.
"There is one tap for three slums. This is the same Aam Aadmi Party government which promised to provide piped water. Forget There is no piped water and free water, the government is not even able to provide safe drinking water. If you check the water, then you will see that the people are getting the dirty water from sewage. Till when will the people of Delhi bear the brunt of the false promises of the Kejriwal government?", said the MP.
The MP also said that the slums are not getting electricity too "Most of the slums here are enveloped in darkness, so they don't even get free water, neither free electricity", she added.
At the same time, BJP MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri from South Delhi constituency also held a rally against the Delhi government for the high electricity bills to slum dwellers, failing to provide old age pensions and ration cards to people.
"From the last six years, the Arvind Kejriwal government has stopped giving out ration cards. From the last six to seven years, the poor people, our old people, are not getting their old age pensions from the government." said Bidhuri.
