New Delhi [India], July 24 : Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Minister Atishi visited the Kanwar Yatra camps in Delhi to inspect the preparedness on Wednesday.
Speaking to ANI about preparedness, Atishi said that the biggest camps have been organised at Kashmiri gate in Delhi and the camps can accommodate at least 2000 Kavarias. She further said that since there is a high possibility of rain, waterproof tents have been arranged along with beds and tables.
"The biggest Kanwar camp has been organised at the Kashmiri Gate in Delhi. The 185 camps can easily accommodate at least 10 thousand people. There is a good possibility because of rain in Sawan, hence, we have arranged waterproof tents in the camp. Arrangements for beds, tables, and food have also been made. Besides, a doctor has also been deployed here. The medical team will be at your rescue in case any injuries occur due to the rain."
"The medical teams will be present in the camp 24 hours and will be working in three different shifts. An ambulance has also been deployed outside the Kavad camp. In case of any serious health injuries, the individual will be taken to the nearest LNGP hospital," she added.
Atishi also said that the preparations to welcome the Kavarias are in full swing. "The preparations are in full swing and we are ready to welcome the Kanwar," she said.
Further, she spoke on the decision on the nameplates and said that India is a diverse country and there are people from all religions and castes. Further, she said that the BJP government only wants to create disputes between religions and castes and that the BJP is an anti-Dalit party; hence, they want to make sure nameplates are there outside every shop.
"In India, people of every religion and caste have been living in harmony. It does not matter if they speak a different language or belong to different castes or religions. When it comes to devotion or festivals, people of all religions, castes, and languages stand together in devotion. The BJP government just wants to create a dispute between religions and castes. They are anti-Dalit; hence, they want to have nameplates," she said.
"The people of the country will never forgive the BJP," she added.
