New Delhi [India], September 30 : Lashing out at Delhi L-G VK Saxena, Delhi Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Saurabh Bharadwaj said that several crimes have been taking place in the national capital, and since Saxena became the L-G, the law and order situation has deteriorated.
"Since VK Saxena has become the LG of Delhi, the law and order here have deteriorated...Several crimes are taking place in Delhi. We have requested him several times that he should inspect the police stations...There is a continuous increase in the crime rate, and the LG is silent on this...Today our legislators have written a letter to him and have sought time from him for a meeting so that we could discuss the law and order situation here," said Saurabh Bharadwaj.
"Gangsters' dominance increased inside Delhi. 15 days ago, a gym owner of Greater Kailash was shot dead. In 24 hours, bullets were fired at three major places, and everyone had received calls for extortion. Even AAP MLAs Sanjiv Jha and Ajay Dutt have been threatened for ransom by gangsters. At the place where bullets were fired the previous day, he had been receiving threats for the past six months. He even filed an FIR but the police did not take any action," the Delhi minister posted on X.
Speaking on the firing incident that occurred in a car showroom in the Naraina area of Delhi on Friday, September 27, Bharadwaj said, "The showroom owner is in panic. He has been asked to pay a ransom of Rs 5 crore. If he does not pay, then everyone has been threatened with death. Ever since Vinai Saxena became LG, the crime rate in Delhi has increased. We thought that he was abroad, and that is why he is not saying anything, but now that he has returned, he has still not given any reaction. There is no discussion on when he will visit the showroom of Naraina."
Earlier in the day, Delhi MLAs wrote to the L-G, raising concerns about increasing incidents of gangsters demanding extortion from businesses in Delhi. They have sought an urgent meeting with LG.
