New Delhi [India], August 29 : The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad on Tuesday requested the Dean of Students of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) to release the hostel and dormitory lists for the newly admitted students in the BTech, BA, and BSc programmes.
In a letter to the Dean of Students of JNU, the ABVP said, "We, the ABVP-JNU, want to draw attention to a serious issue that newly admitted students of B.Tech., BA, and B.Sc. are facing. Since the offline document verification for the BTech is complete, classes have also started today, and the admission process is going on for the BA and BSc students. Their classes will also start on September 4."
"These students are coming from different parts of India, and they are facing challenges with their
accommodations. Many of them are from very rural areas and are coming to Delhi for the first
time. Many BTech students are not able to attend their classes, and in a few days, BA and BSC
ayurveda students are going to face the same challenges," it said.
ABVP in their letter also requested to provide basic amenities, including a fan and a bed to the students who are living in the dormitory.
"It is our request to the IHA to release the hostel list on a priority basis so that the studies of these students will not be hampered. It also requests that basic amenities like a fan, light, bed, and table be provided to the students living in the dormitory," read the letter further.
