Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], April 10 : BJP candidate from Hyderabad seat, Madhavi Latha on Wednesday hit out at the AIMIM and Congress after Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) general secretary Mohammed Feroz Khan said that there is a compromise between the two parties.
She also alleged that AIMIM will use the Congress power illegally in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
"You people have, your own government here, and coming in unofficial alliance with the AIMIM, which you are not on paper declaring it, and again you have the control over state government and police and you have everyone with you... You are going to misuse the whole power, so basically you are saying that hoping you are giving an opportunity that AIMIM going to use Congress power this time unofficially, illegally to get his votes and do whatever he wants to do," said Madhavi Latha.
Latha also said that Firoz Khan is exactly right regarding the tacit support of Congress for AIMIM and its "unofficial alliance."
"What he said (Firoz Khan) is exactly right. Congress and AIMIM have gone together. It's a very clear thing. We always expect that two parties should have their representatives and the fight is to be between all of us. It's because you have the government in Telangana, so you are coming in an unofficial alliance with AIMIM. Except for the state election commission, all the people deployed there are under the state government and you can control them," Madhavi said.
"So basically, openly you are declaring that AIMIM is going to use Congress' power unofficially and illegally to get votes and do whatever they want to do in elections. We are going to ensure that this won't happen. This is going to be the answer to two parties," she added.
Earlier, Congress' Mohammed Feroz Khan opened up about his candidature in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections, saying he won't be contesting in the polls and there is a 'compromise' between the AIMIM and the Congress party.
On being asked about the announcement of Hyderabad Congress candidates and the possibility of him contesting in the polls, Feroz Khan said, "There is a compromise between the AIMIM and Congress party, so I am not in the race. The High Command Mallikarjun Kharge will decide."
Earlier, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who visited Telangana, while addressing 'Jana Jatara Sabha', listed the five guarantees (Nyay) in the party's manifesto.
Notably, the Lok Sabha elections are scheduled to be held across seven phases, starting April 19. The counting of votes is scheduled for June 4.
The general election in Telangana will be held on May 13 to elect 17 members of the 18th Lok Sabha.
