Airports Authority of India celebrates 78th Independence Day with grandeur

New Delhi [India], August 15 : The Airports Authority of India (AAI) on Thursday marked the 78th Independence Day with great zeal and enthusiasm.
The celebration took place at the Delhi Air Traffic Services (DATS) Complex in the national capital, where Sanjeev Kumar (IAS), Chairman of AAI, hoisted the national flag amidst a gathering of senior AAI officials.
Those who were present for the flag hoisting ceremony including M Suresh, Member (ANS), Dr. H. Srinivas, Member (Human Resources), Pankaj Malhotra, Member (Finance), Nikhil Kumar Kanodia (IPS), Chief Vigilance Officer of AAI among others.
The event commenced with the national anthem, followed by a formal presentation of the Guard of Honour to the AAI Chairman Kumar by a joint team of CISF and AAI fire personnel.
In his address, Kumar extended heartfelt greetings and emphasised the significance of commemorating the sacrifices of freedom fighters.
He highlighted AAI's achievements in the Indian aviation sector and reiterated the Authority's commitment to contributing to the nation's progress.
Kumar stressed the importance of aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) by 2047. He underscored the need to accelerate infrastructure development within AAI and reaffirmed the commitment to providing hassle-free services to passengers.
The AAI chairman Sanjeev Kumar said, "We must align with the honourable Prime Minister's vision of making India a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) by 2047. To achieve this, we need to accelerate the pace of infrastructure development at the Airports Authority of India".
He said, "Additionally, we must continue to recommit ourselves to providing hassle-free services to our passengers. Our goal is for them to think of civil aviation whenever they consider travelling and to remember us for the exceptional service they receive at our airports."
The DATS Complex was decorated with vibrant rangolis and flowers and bore a festive look on the ocassion.
NCC students from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Rangpuri, enhanced the celebration with their drum performances.
In a move to promote environmental sustainability, the event concluded with the distribution of approximately 1000 medicinal plant saplings in collaboration with the Ministry of Ayush.
This initiative aimed to encourage officials to plant more trees and enhance green spaces around their homes.
The celebration was meticulously organised by Devendra Kumar Gautam, Regional Executive Director-Northern Region, AAI, along with his team and senior officers.
The event not only honoured India's rich heritage but also reinforced AAI's dedication to the nation's future growth.
