Guwahati (Assam) [India], May 16 : The All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) has issued show cause notices to two of its MLAs for engaging in anti-party activities.
According to the AIUDF, the two MLAs are Nizam Uddin Choudhury and Suzan Uddin Laskar.
As per AIUDF General Secretary Aminul Islam, AIUDF MLA Nizam Uddin Choudhury made a statement that after June 4, AIUDF will be finished. Suzam Uddin Laskar had appealed to the people to vote in favour of Congress.
AIUDF MLA and party General Secretary Aminul Islam added that both leaders have been given a timeframe of 5 days to give their replies and if they do not give satisfactory replies, then the party will take disciplinary action against them.
"Both MLAs Nizam Uddin Choudhury of Algapur assembly constituency and Suzan Uddin Laskar of Katlicherra assembly constituency have been found to be involved in anti-party activities. Our party has issued show cause notice to both and given them a timeframe of 5 days to give their replies. If they do not give a satisfactory reply, then the party will take disciplinary action against them," Aminul Islam said.
"Nizam Uddin Choudhury made a statement against the party during the press conference held in his house along with the state Congress president and he said that after June 4, AIUDF will be finished. On the other hand, Suzam Uddin Laskar had appealed to the people to vote in favour of Congress. We believe that, the statements made by the two MLAs will decrease the strength of AIUDF and affect the image of the party. So we have taken this decision," Aminul Islam added.
