Giridih (Jharkhand) [India], September 20 : Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday launched a scathing attack on the Hemant Soren-led JMM government in Jharkhand, accusing it of committing "injustice" against the people of the state.
Speaking at the BJP's 'Parivartan Sabha' in Giridih, Shah urged the public to vote out the current government and bring the BJP to power, promising transformative changes for the poor, Dalits, Adivasis, and OBCs in the state.
"We started a yatra from the Palamu division this morning, and another from Giridih. Both have been named 'Parivartan Yatra'. Three more yatras will be taken out, each carrying the message of 'parivartan' (change) to every assembly constituency in Jharkhand," Shah said.
Adding further, Shah said, "This 'parivartan' is not just about changing the government or the Chief Minister's face, but about transforming the lives of the poor, Dalits, Adivasis, and OBCs. The current government has done injustice to the youth, OBCs, Dalits, mothers, sisters, and tribals of Jharkhand."
Shah called on the people of Giridih to "uproot Hemant Soren's government" and bring in the BJP.
"I am here in Giridih to ask the people to uproot Hemant Soren's government and bring the government of Lotus (BJP) to the state. Under the leadership of PM Modi, Jharkhand will become the number one state in the country," he said.
He also highlighted that the objective of the BJP's Parivartan Yatra is 'Mahan Jharkhand, Viksit Jharkhand.'
Criticising the Soren government, Shah claimed it prioritised "infiltrator welfare" over public welfare.
"They are destroying our civilisation, encroaching on our properties, and engaging in fake marriages with our daughters by using different means. Only the BJP can ensure that infiltrators have no place in Jharkhand," he said.
Amit Shah flagged off the 'Parivartan Yatra' in Jharkhand's Sahibganj district on Friday afternoon. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Jharkhand BJP chief Babulal Marandi, and former CM Champai Soren were present on the occasion.
While addressing a public rally in Sahibganj, Shah accused the Hemant Soren government of rampant corruption and urged the people to vote for a government that supports farmers and creates jobs. He also announced the launch of the BJP's Parivartan Yatra for the upcoming assembly polls during the rally and emphasised that the proposed change goes beyond replacing the Chief Minister.
Addressing the issue of infiltration in the state, Shah claimed that a change in government would eliminate every infiltrator from the region.
"Infiltrators are the vote bank of Lalu Yadav, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, and Rahul Baba's Congress party. If you change the government, I promise that we will identify and throw out every single infiltrator from Jharkhand," he said.
"In our state, the number of infiltrators is increasing in place of tribals. We have to stop this. Only the BJP can do this work," he added.
Criticising Jharkhand CM's employment promises, Shah said, "Hemant Soren promised that he will give 5 lakh jobs every year. Did it deliver? Instead of jobs, Hemant Soren made youth run till death. Papers are being leaked one by one. You have given nothing except for corruption. I am telling you with full responsibility that Hemant Soren's government is the most corrupt government. If there is any corrupt government, it is Hemant Soren's government."
Jharkhand is set to go to polls for its 81-member legislative assembly later this year, as the current government's tenure ends in 2024. The Election Commission of India (ECI) is yet to announce the dates.
