Amritsar Commissionerate Police arrests 3, seizes 5 kg heroin and Rs 3.95 lakh drug money in an intelligence-based operation

Amritsar (Punjab) [India], October 9 : The Amritsar Commissionerate Police on Wednesday dealt a massive blow to the trans-border narcotic network after they seized 5 kilogram heroin and Rs 3.95 lakh drug money from Ajnala here, as per officials.
Technical leaders were developed in the intelligence based operation led to the arrest of three people following which a FIR was registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS).
Further investigations are ongoing to establish the backward and forward linkages and to demonstrate the Punjab police's commitment to dismantle the drug networks and make the state drug-free.
DGP Punjab Police took to platform X and wrote in a post "Amritsar Commissionerate Police has dealt a massive blow to trans-border narcotic networks in an intelligence -based operation. Seizure of 5 Kg Heroin and Rs3.95 lakhs drug money and arrest of 3 persons in the operation from #Ajnala, #Amritsar Rural.Technical leads were developed in a professional investigation and an FIR has been registered under the NDPS Act.Investigations are ongoing to establish backward and forward linkages, demonstrating@PunjabPoliceInd's commitment to dismantling drug networks and making #Punjab drug-free."
Earlier on October 8, continuing its fight against organised crime, Jalandhar Rural Police busted an interstate arms smuggling gang, arresting the leader and seizing 5 pistols
On October 7. in a breakthrough, Moga Police busted an illegal arms module operated by foreign-based handler Jagga Dhurkot and arrested 7 operatives of the gang. Jagga Dhurkot is connected with Lawrence Bishnoi Gang. He was involved in extorting money from people in Punjab was planning dacoity which was averted successfully. 5 Pistols (32 Bore) with 8 Cartridge and Magazines were recovered in the operation.
On October 5, in a blow to organised crime in Punjab the Anti Gangster Task Force (AGTF) in a joint-operation with Bathinda Police apprehended Jaspreet Singh aka Jassa, kingpin of Jassa Burj Gang along with 3 associates. They were involved in arms smuggling, snatching and kidnapping.
Previously 11 FIRs of heinous crime were registered against Jaspreet Singh. 4 Pistols (32 Bore) with magazines and 11 live cartridges were recovered in the operation. The arrested accused have a criminal history with several criminal cases registered against them in Punjab.
