"The state government is very determined to control this drug menace. So the state government has formed a cabinet subcommittee with five cabinet ministers to study the ganja problem and to come up with a solution to control it," Rao told reporters.
"One of the things that is talked about and thought about is to form an anti-narcotic task force. We already have posted an officer, an IG rank officer, to handle this issue. He will take all steps to form this ANTF," he added.
The DGP said that the police is also thinking of going for a toll-free number that will be available to everybody. 1972 is the number that will be activated in the next few days, he said.
The police chief said that cybercrime is also the focus area for the police.
"The focus is on 2-3 important issues. One is the narcotics ganja, which is very prevalent in Visakhapatnam and nearby areas. The second is cybercrime, which is also a thrust area for the government of Andhra Pradesh," he said.
