Guntur (Andhra Pradesh) [India], March 6 : TDP National General Secretary Nara Lokesh slammed Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Reddy for "backstabbing" the Backward Class (BC) community in the state by reducing 10 per cent reservations in the local bodies.
"Psycho Jagan has backstabbed the BC community. Jagan reduced 10% reservations in the local bodies and he is responsible for 16,000 BCs losing their opportunities. YSRCP has taken back 8,000 acres of assigned land from the BC community," Lokesh said while addressing a public gathering at Managalagiri at the TDP's 'BC Declaration' public meeting.
He further alleged that the Jagan Reddy government "killed" 300 BCs and filed false cases on 26,000 BCs.
"Multiple cases have been filed against TDP BC leaders. I will take on the responsibility of delivering justice to the officers whose names were written in the red book," Lokesh said.
"YSRCP BC Cell President Jagna Krishnamurthy said that there is no justice for the BCs in the party; Kurnool MP Sanjay Kumar said that the voice of the BC community is being suppressed in YSRCP, Parthasarathi didn't get the appointment from Jagan Reddy," he added.
Lokesh also listed 5 assurances, including the construction of 20,000 houses, a separate corporation for Padmasalis in Mangalagiri, and the regularisation of the endowment lands.
The BC Declaration outlines a series of pledges to be undertaken by the TDP-JSP alliance once they come to power, according to the TDP press release. This includes the implementation of pensions for BCs from the age of 50 years, the formation of a social justice monitoring committee, a BC sub-plan with a yearly expenditure of 1.5 lakh crores, and conducting a legal caste census, among others.
