Army Chief General Manoj Pande visits Bombay Engineers Group and Centre in Pune, interacts with troops

Pune (Maharashtra) [India], May 25 : The Chief of Army Staff, General Manoj Pande visited the Bombay Engineer Group and Centre, Khadki in Pune on Saturday. During his visit, General Pande interacted with troops, praising them for maintaining high standards of professionalism and dedication to duty.
The visit started with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Bombay Sappers War Memorial. He paid homage to the bravehearts who have made the sacrifice in service to the nation.
This institution, known as the Bombay Sappers, has played a pivotal role in shaping General Pande's distinguished military career, which began in December 1982.
Following the wreath-laying ceremony, General Pande was accorded an impressive 'Guard of Honour' by the Bombay Sappers.
In a post on X, ADG PI- Indian Army said, "General Manoj Pande COAS, visited Bombay Engineer Group & Centre, Khadki in Pune, an institution which made a profound professional impact in the shaping of an illustrious military career beginning in Dec 1982."
"In a solemn wreath-laying ceremony, COAS paid homage to the bravehearts at Bombay Sappers War Memorial. COAS was accorded an impressive 'Guard of Honour' by the Bombay Sappers during the visit. COAS addressed All Ranks and appreciated various initiatives and developments in the Centre towards imparting state-of-the-art training. Later, COAS interacted with troops and complimented them for maintaining high standards of professionalism and dedication to duty," the post further reads.
Meanwhile, General Manoj Pande also visited the Army Sports Institute in Pune and inaugurated the newly-raised Army Girls Sports Company (AGSC).
In a post on X, "ADG PI- Indian Army said, "General Manoj Pande COAS visited Army Sports Institute (ASI), Pune, and inaugurated the newly raised Army Girls Sports Company (AGSC). He also virtually inaugurated the AGSC for Shooting discipline."
"This significant initiative promises to inspire and empower the next generation of female athletes, setting a robust foundation for future excellence in the field of sports," the post added.
Sandeep Pradhan, Director General Sports Authority of India, Anju Bobby George, Vice President, of the Athletics Federation of India, and other distinguished guests and elite athletes were present on the occasion.
