Giridih (Jharkhand) [India], May 20 : As polling on three Lok Sabha seats Chatra, Kodarma and Hazaribagh is underway, Kalpana Soren, wife of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha candidate for Gandey assembly by-election appealed people to come out and vote and said people will bless them again.
"I would like to appeal to voters in Gandey, Koderma and Hazaribagh to step out and vote. Celebrate this festival with joy and enthusiasm...People of Gandey have blessed us earlier too. They are going to bless us again...These elections are about the BJP versus the public. I am the people's candidate; they are going to give full support to INDIA Alliance," said Kalpana Soren while speaking to ANI.
Ahead of this putting up a note for her husband in a post on X, she lashed out at the Bharatiya Janata Party and stated that the dictators changed her life on January 31 (the date of Hemant Soren's arrest).
"Politics, party, government--everything was your responsibility. I was happy taking care of the house, children, Baba, mother and family. I never had any interest in joining politics, nor did I ever think that I had to do this. But the dictators changed our lives on January 31st. Along with you, my soul has also been imprisoned within four walls," read the post on X.
She further stated that Hemant Soren always considered the people of Jharkhand his biggest strength and responsibility; adding to that, she wrote, "On one hand, we saw you embracing the poor and the downtrodden, and on the other hand, we saw you standing up in front of dictators. Only after coming out of the four walls and meeting your Jharkhand family could I truly understand the power and determination behind your passion."
Hailing the INDIA alliance, she wrote, "Along with me, the people of Jharkhand have resolved that the candidates of the INDIA alliance should register a big victory on all the seats so that in the future any dictator will think a thousand times before hatching a conspiracy."
The JMM is part of the INDIA bloc and is contesting elections in alliance with the Congress in Jharkhand and Odisha. Jharkhand has recorded 11.68 per cent voter turnout till 9 AM.
