Assam CM Sarma assures Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana for dwarf man Mujibur Rahman

Silchar (Assam) [India], September 7 : Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday assured the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) for Mujibur Rahman, a dwarf man.
During his first visit to Hailakandi since taking office as Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma took the time to connect with the people of the region. It was during this interaction with the public that CM Sarma met Majibur Rehman.
During a public meeting, Rahman handed over his application to avail the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana to CM Sarma.
In the video, Majibur Rehman can be seen confidently interacting with CM Sarma, presenting his voter ID and his application for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
During the meeting, CM also had a conversation with him and assured him that the construction of his house would commence the day after tomorrow.
Later, sharing a glimpse of the interesting interaction with the Rehman on the social media platform ‘X’ CM wrote “Mujibur Rahman is a very interesting and hardworking person. May God keep them happy always.”
Meanwhile, giving new momentum to the development of the Barak Valley, which consists of three administrative districts namely Cachar, Karimganj and Hailakandi, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated and laid foundations of several projects worth Rs 767 crore in Assam's Barak Valley on Thursday.
It may be noted that Chief Minister Sarma, who is on a two-day visit to Barak Valley, today visited Cachar and Hailakandi districts and laid the foundations of a number of projects in the Valley.
During his visit, he also inaugurated 75 schemes encompassing 18,869 beneficiaries from eight Legislative Assembly Constituencies in the region.
The Chief Minister inaugurated five schemes involving a financial outlay of Rs 229 crore and laid the foundations for four projects worth Rs 538 crore.
The Chief Minister also laid foundations for the improvement of a road measuring 22 Km from Borkhola to Kalain involving Rs 210 crore and another road from Cechabari to Hailakandi measuring 24 Km involving Rs 264 crore.
Chief Minister Sarma also inaugurated three bridges over the Barak River and unveiled a statue of Lachit Borphukan on the premises of the DC office in Cachar.
