Dhubri (Assam) [India], January 24 : Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah saying that Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is "remote controlled" by them and that he was not afraid of either of them.
Addressing a rally at Dhubri, Congress MP said that the most corrupt CM of the nation is Himanta Biswa Sarma.
"Everyone here knows the most corrupt CM of the nation is the CM of Assam (Himanta Biswa Sarma). He only spread hate in the state every time. They have been trying to stop our yatra for the past 2-3 days through several ways, but they didn't get the point that Rahul Gandhi is neither afraid of the Assam CM nor Narendra Modi or Amit Shah. Himanta Biswa Sarma, is remote-controlled by Prime Minister Modi and Amit Shah."
He further said, "PM Narendra Modi and Amit Shah have the remote control of Sarma, who will be thrown out instantly if he speaks anything for the benefit of Assam."
Attacking BJP, he said that the party has been spreading hatred in Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Assam and Odisha.
"People said that you held a yatra from Kashmir to Kanyakumari but BJP has been spreading hatred in Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Assam and Odisha. What about that? This is why we have embarked on the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra from Manipur to Maharashtra," Rahul said.
Congress MP further asserted that whenever there is justice, hatred and violence cannot be seen there.
"We have added the word 'Nyay' to Bharat Jodo Yatra this time. We want to say that hatred and violence take place only when there is injustice in the country. Wherever there is justice, hatred and violence cannot be seen there," he added.
The Congress MP also slammed the Badruddin Ajmal-led All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF), terming it as the "B team of BJP".
Gandhi asserted that the grand old party will defeat both the BJP and the AIUDF in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections as well as the assembly polls in Assam.
Rahul Gandhi is leading the party's Manipur to Mumbai Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra and as the Yatra was about to enter Guwahati city, Congress workers were stopped from entering the city and clashed with Assam Police.
