Bangladesh MP's body minced into pieces, West Bengal CID arrests butcher

Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], May 24 : In a shocking revelation, the West Bengal Criminal Investigation Department (CID) said that they have arrested one of the suspects in the Bangladesh MP killing case, who is a butcher by profession and had taken off all the meat of the Bangladeshi MP Anwarul Azim Anar's body and minced it to destroy his identity.
Sharing details of the accused, the police said, "The assailants brought a butcher named Jihad (alias Siam) from Mumbai. Jihad was living in Mumbai as an illegal intruder for many years. Two months ago, he was brought to Kolkata by American citizen of Bangladesh origin, Akhtaruzzaman Shaheen. This Shaheen is the mastermind of this planned heinous murder."
This accused has confessed that, on the orders of Akhtaruzzaman, he and four other Bangladeshi nationals had smothered and killed the MP in a flat, police said.
"Then they removed all the meat from the body in the flat and minced the meat to destroy his identity and then they put everything in a polythene pack. They also chopped the bones into small pieces. Then take those packets out of the flat and dropped them around Kolkata and the surrounding areas using different modes of transport," the police said in a statement on Thursday.
On Friday, May 24, the accused will be sent to Barasat District and Sessions Court of North 24 Parganas district. On behalf of the investigating agency CID, the police will apply for remand and verify his statement by taking him into their custody and trying to recover the remains of the body of the murdered Bangladeshi parliamentarian.
A CID delegation went to Krishnamati Khal area of Bhandar in search of the remains of Anwarul Azim Anna. The CID came to know this after interrogating Zuber, the app cab driver in the murder.
Bangladeshi MP Anwarul Azim Anar who entered India on May 12, was last seen on the afternoon of May 13 when he went with friends to a home in Bidhannagar near Kolkata for a medical check-up. He was found dead in West Bengal's Kolkata on Wednesday.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to investigate the killing of the Bangladeshi MP.
Bangladesh Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan in a news conference in Dhaka said that the MP was killed in Kolkata. Speaking to reporters at his residence on Wednesday, the minister said that Bangladesh Police have arrested three persons in this connection, reported Bangladesh Newspaper Daily Star.
