"Bihar mein bahaar thi, ab desh mein bahaar hai": JDU leader Harshvardhan Singh

New Delhi [India], June 6 : Janata Dal (United) leader Harshvardhan Singh on Thursday met with the Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at the latter's residence in New Delhi and said that all important decisions including demands for ministries on the party's behalf will be taken by the JDU chief Nitish Kumar.
"We are active members of the party, so we have come to meet him. The environment is so good. Bihar mein bahaar thi, ab desh mein bahaar hai, Nitishe Kumar hai. Ministries and other things are decided by Nitish Kumar. We are workers. But it feels good that we are being honoured and we thank Modi ji," Harshvardhan Singh told reporters.
Meanwhile, JDU leader KC Tyagi on Thursday reiterated that the party had offered unconditional support to the BJP-led NDA but made a pitch for special status to be granted to Bihar.
"There is no pre-condition. There is unconditional support. But Bihar should be given a special status. That is something which we have in our heart... " said KC Tyagi.
As per the results announced by the Election Commission of India on Tuesday, the BJP won 240 seats and along with its allies, it stands at 293 seats. Chandrababu Naidu's TDP and Nitish Kumar's JDU, having won 16 and 12 seats respectively in their respective states, have extended support to the NDA.
The NDA meeting, held on Wednesday, was the first of its kind following the alliance's majority win. The meeting saw the participation of Narendra Modi along with top leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party and NDA leaders, reinforcing the coalition's solidarity.
The NDA leaders have reposed faith in Modi and chose him as the leader of the alliance, paving the way for him to become the PM for the third straight time.
Meanwhile, President Droupadi Murmu dissolved the 17th Lok Sabha on Wednesday after the recommendation of the Union Cabinet.
