Una (Himachal Pradesh) [India], December 10 : Referring to the seizure of huge amounts of cash in Income Tax raids at premises linked to a Congress MP, Union Minister Anurag Thakur on Sunday said that the BJP aims for 400 seats, while Congress indulges in Rs 400 crore corruption.
"The support BJP has got from people is because of PM Modi's public welfare policies. The country has progressed in all spheres. Congress leaders are involved in corruption of more than Rs 400 crore, while we are thinking of winning 400 seats," said Thakur.
Pointing towards Congress' Rs 200 cr corruption scam, BJP leader Anurag Thakur said that this is the reason by the party always opposed the demonetisation and spoke against the ED and CBI.
"Since the beginning, the Congress party has always been involved in corruption and scams", Thakur said.
Questioning the Congress party's silence on the recent Income tax raid and exposure of Congress party's mega-money scandal, Thakur said "It has been four days now, yet Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi haven't said a word on it".
Notably, more than Rs 200 crore of unaccounted cash was recovered from an Odisha-based liquor distillery group which was linked to Congress MP Dhiraj Sahu.
To oppose Congress party's mega-money scandal, all 14 units of the Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party have declared to hold a dharna in the national capital to seek the statement of Congress leadership on the Rs 200 crore cash scam.
Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva said that there is widespread resentment amongst the people after witnessing the cash scam of Congress MP Dheeraj Sahu.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah took a jibe at the INDIA alliance for remaining silent on the issue. He said that there is a fear in the minds of the parties who are part of the bloc as their "secrets will be revealed".
"I understand Congress is silent as corruption is in their nature but JDU, RJD, DMK, and SP all are sitting silently...Now I understand why a campaign was run against PM Modi that agencies are being misused. It was run because there was a fear in their mind that all the secrets of their corruption would be revealed," Home Minister Amit Shah told ANI.
Income Tax sleuths have, so far, recovered more than Rs 200 crore cash from several locations in Odisha and Jharkhand during their raids against Boudh Distilleries Private Limited (BDPL) and more entities linked to Congress MP Dhiraj Sahu.
