"BJP always opposed Nawab Malik but...": Anushakti Nagar NCP candidate Sana Malik

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], November 3 : Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar) candidate from Anushakti Nagar assembly seat and daughter of Nawab Malik, Sana Malik has attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party who is also is alliance partner of NCP for opposing Mankhurd Shivaji Nagar Assembly seat candidate Nawab Malik.
Sana said that the BJP has always opposed Nawab Malik but the NCP have faith in the people that they will make him win.
"The issues in Lok Sabha were different. But what kind of work has the MP done in the last 6 months? All these things are being discussed among the people today. In the assembly elections, people believe that if we are electing an MLA, then how much work will he do for us or how accessible he is to us, all these things are being discussed," Sana Malik told ANI on Saturday.
She further exuded confidence in winning the Maharashtra Assembly elections and said that the people of the state is with the party.
"We are contesting on the NCP symbol and we are with Dada (Ajit Pawar), the public is with us, we seek votes from people on the basis of our work and we are confident that people will choose us. BJP has always opposed Nawab Malik, we have faith in the people and we will win," she added.
After Nawab Malik filed his nomination, a new challenge emerged in front of the Mahayuti alliance as the Mahayuti had already announced Shiv Sena's Suresh Krishna Patil as the 'official' candidate on the same seat.
NCP-SCP has fielded actor Swara Bhaskar's husband Fahad Ahmad from the Anushakti Nagar seat against Sana Malik.
On October 26, Nawab Malik, a two time MP from Anushakti Nagar announced that he will contest Mankhurd Shivaji Nagar Assembly constituency
Notably, Bharatiya Janata Party officials said they will always oppose Malik, saying that he is accused of having relations with Dawood Ibrahim. The Shiv sena has also expressed opposition, claiming his links with underworld don and gangster Dawood Ibrahim.
The BJP is in alliance with NCP (Ajit Pawar), and Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde), called the Mahayuti alliance.The other major alliance for the state's assembly election is the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), comprising of Congress, Sharad Pawar-led NCP, and Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena.
The Maharashtra Assembly elections are scheduled for November 20, with counting for all 288 constituencies set for November 23.
In the 2019 assembly elections, the BJP won 105 seats, the Shiv Sena 56, and the Congress 44. In 2014, the BJP secured 122 seats, the Shiv Sena 63, and the Congress 42.
