New Delhi [India], July 9 : Ahead of the assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday appointed MLA Mohan Lal Badoli as the Haryana State President.
This comes after the parties started preparations for the Haryana Assembly elections, which are to be held later this year.
Earlier, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini asserted on Sunday that Congress will be able to win any seat in the assembly elections as the Bharatiya Janata Party is strong in all 90 assembly seats in the state.
Congress is weak in every assembly. Congress has nothing to speak about... I don't think Congress will be able to win any seat in the assembly elections because the BJP is very strong in all 90 assembly seats," Saini told reporters.
Earlier on July 6, Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Saturday held a meeting with state BJP leaders and workers on the preparations for the 2024 Assembly elections in Haryana.
After the meeting, the former Haryana Chief Minister told reporters in Karnal, "...The preparations are going on for the Vidhan Sabha elections. The party workers are excited. The lies told by Congress will not work in the next elections. The tactics that they (the Congress) have used in the Lok Sabha elections will not work anymore..."
Earlier today, former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda took a dig at Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) and said that the fight is between Congress and the BJP and there is no place for those who cut votes.
Speaking to the media here today, Hooda said, "Congress is fully prepared. We have toured every district, and now we will be touring every assembly constituency. In the Lok Sabha elections, our alliance received 47.62 percent of the vote, and the highest vote share in the entire country was in Haryana for our alliance. Tamil Nadu is in second place, followed by Karnataka."
"The Lok Sabha elections have made it clear that the contest is between Congress and BJP. There is no place for those who cut votes. On the National level, we have an alliance. Currently, there is no alliance in Haryana," he added.
Further, attacking the BJP government in the state, the Congress leader said that today Haryana stands at number one in unemployment.
"Inflation and law and order have completely collapsed here. Everyone has made up their minds that the next government will be formed by Congress," Hooda added.
In the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, the BJP and Congress won 5 seats each in the State. The BJP registered a vote share of 46.11 per cent, while the Congress registered a vote share of 43.67 per cent, and its alliance partner, the Aam Admi Party, registered a vote share of 3.94 per cent.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP won all 10 seats in the state.
