Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [india], September 27 : BJP spokesperson CR Kesavan on Friday slammed Rahul Gandhi, comparing him to Joseph Goebbels, the propaganda minister for Hitler. Kesavan called Gandhi the "deceptive and dishonest Goebbels of Indian politics," accusing him of spreading misinformation.
He said, "Yesterday, you saw how Mr. Rahul Gandhi tried to fabricate falsehoods from his fake factory," referring to what he called Gandhi's "malicious Goebbels-like bogus propaganda."
"Because he is nervous and he is panicking. He knows that the two crore voters of Haryana have decided to repose their faith in the tried and trusted government of the BJP. At the same time, he also knows that the voters of Haryana have understood and will never vote for the 'anti-farmer,' 'anti-reservation,' and 'pro-corruption' Congress party," the BJP spokesperson said.
He addressed Rahul Gandhi's comments regarding representation for OBCs, Dalits, and SC/ST communities, pointing out that the current Chief Minister of Haryana is from the OBC community. "Our president is from the tribal community, whose candidates the Congress opposed. The Chief Information Commissioner for the first time in the history of India is from the Dalit community," he added. Kesavan also accused the Congress party of being anti-reservation and claimed they wanted to end quotas for marginalised communities.
Kesavan criticised Gandhi for campaigning in Assandh, where a Congress candidate had previously suggested that a Congress government would prioritise family wealth. "The Congress candidate Shamsher Gogi from Assandh had said two days ago, 'If the Congress comes to power, first we'll fill in our family coffers and our relatives' coffers.' It was a straight clarion call for corruption by the Congress," he said.
On employment, Kesavan argued that Haryana is leading in industry and agriculture, claiming that the BJP government has created 1.6 crore formal jobs in the last ten years. He also pointed out that in 2014, the per capita income was Rs 1.37 lakhs, which has since doubled. He concluded by saying that the people of Haryana have made up their minds to vote for the BJP for a historic third term, ensuring that the Congress party is rejected once again.
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Thursday launched a scathing attack on the incumbent Haryana government during a public rally in Assandh, focusing on the lack of job opportunities that force youth to migrate.
He said, "It is the duty of the Congress party to ensure a happy life for families by providing proper opportunities to the youth of Haryana within the state itself - and we will do it!"
Gandhi also promised financial support for women, job creation, and housing for the poor.
"The first step is Mahila Shakti, providing Rs 2,000 per month to women. The second step is that we will fill the two lakh vacancies that are lying vacant in the government for the youth," the Congress leader added. He also emphasised the need for a caste census and warned of threats to the Constitution.
Haryana goes to the polls on October 5 to elect a 90-member state legislative assembly to form its next government, with the counting set to take place on October 8.
