Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], July 29 : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Balmukund Acharya on Monday accused the Congress regime in the state of prohibiting Kanwar activities.
Acharya further asserted that law and order in Rajasthan have strengthened since the Bharatiya Janata Party came to power in the state.
Addressing media persons, Acharya said, "During Congress times, stone-pelting on Kanwariyas, stopping Kanwariyas, and prohibiting their Satsang were common practices. But since the BJP assumed power, things have changed... Law and order in the state are strong."
Furthermore, Acharya cited the probable reasons behind the death threats to Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal Sharma. Criticising the Congress's tenure, he said that 'mafia-raj' was prevalent during their time, but things changed since the BJP came to power.
"The CM, since he assumed power, has been active in ending the mafia-raj that was prevalent during Congress' tenure. That's why those who are in jail and those who are being sent to jail are rattled. The CM has tightened things, and these mafias have become unemployed. Hence, they are threatening the CM, but these threats won't have an impact as the rule of law and order prevails," said the BJP MLA.
After Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma received death threats reportedly from Shyalawas Jail in Dausa, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Lalsot Lokesh Sonwal said that the police have identified the accused and recovered nine mobile phones from the spot.
ASP Lalsot Lokesh Sonwal said, "This morning at 7:30 a.m., Dausa SP Ranjita Sharma received a phone call from higher officials in Jaipur that a person had issued a threat to a control room from the location of Central Jail Shyalawas. She gave directions to verify the threat. The local CEO and SHO went to the spot. A search was conducted along with jail authorities."
He further stated that the mobile phone and the SIM card from which the threat was made were seized.
"The mobile phone and SIM card were seized, and the person who issued the threat was identified. An FIR has been issued, and an investigation is ongoing. We conducted a search operation involving ADM, SDM, and DIG, and unearthed nine mobile phones from the ground. The name of the accused cannot be revealed," he added.
He further revealed that the accused is serving a sentence under Section 376 and is from Darjeeling.
Due to security reasons, the name of the person and other details cannot be revealed.
