BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi attacks Congress on Sanatana Dharma issue, says "Disease lies in your minds"

New Delhi [India], September 6 : BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi on Wednesday attacked the Congress for Karnataka minister G Parameshwara's remarks on the origin of Hinduism and its alliance partner DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin's comment on Sanatana Dharma. He said that if Congress and its allies see "disease" in Hinduism, then the "disease is in their minds." 
"I want to say this to Congress. If your leader Parameshwara or the leader of one of your alliance partners Udhayanidhi Stalin says that Hinduism is a disease, I want to remind them that the inventor of the atomic bomb Robert Oppenheimer got inspiration from Gita, and Niels Henrik David Bohr who contributed to the understanding of atomic structure wrote in his book that he read Upanishads. Father of Rocket Science Wernher von Braun’s mentor Hermann Oberth said that he studied the Vedas," Sudhanshu Trivedi told reporters. 
 "If others seek knowledge in it and Congress and the alliance (INDIA) see disease in it, then the disease lies in the minds of these people," the BJP MP added. 
Udhayanidhi Stalin's comments calling for the "eradication of Sanatana Dharma have triggered a nationwide political row with top BJP leaders and ministers taking strong exception to the comments.
The BJP has demanded an apology from MK Stalin's son. Leaders from the saffron party have also blamed the INDIA bloc for Udhayanidhi's remark, claiming such an agenda was discussed during the recent meeting that was held in Mumbai.
However, Udhayanidhi stood by his comments saying that he is not against the Hindu religion but Sanatana practices like caste discrimination.
Meanwhile Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara on Tuesday questioned the origin of Hinduism.  
"The question is when was Hinduism born, who created it? Many religions have arisen in the history of the world. Jainism and Buddhism were born here. When was Hinduism born and who started it is still a question," Parameshwara said. 
The state Home Minister's remarks came while he was addressing an event on the occasion of the Teachers' Day at Maruti Kalyana Mandapam, Koratagere.
He added, "Our country has a history of the origin of Buddhism and Jainism...Islam and Christianity came to our country from abroad. The summary of all the religions of the world is to be good for one mankind."
