May 30, 2024
Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], May 30 : Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Assembly and BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari on Thursday expressed confidence in BJP's performance in Lok Sabha polls in West Bengal saying that the BJP party will get more seats than it did in the previous Lok Sabha election.
"We (BJP) will get more seats than the previous time. We have reached 400 (seats)," he told ANI.
"In the 2021 elections (West Bengal Assembly), the employees of I-PAC did fake counting at ERO, RO and Counting Supervisor's tables. TMC was helped by them to win 40-50 seats using unfair means. So, this time every person will carry a government identification card and these guidelines have been given by the ECI," he said.
While responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's statement that TMC is in survival mode in West Bengal, BJP leader Suvendu said, "Whatever he (PM Modi) said is the ground reality."
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi told ANI, "TMC party is fighting for survival in the Bengal elections. This time, the best-performing state in India is going to be West Bengal. The BJP is getting maximum success in West Bengal."
Six phases of the Lok Sabha elections are over and the final phase will be held on June 1 in 57 constituencies in eight states and union territories. The polling for 42 seats of West Bengal is being held across all seven phases.
