Jun 30, 2024

Guwahati (Assam) [India], June 30 : Union Minister Pabitra Margherita on Sunday said that the people of Jharkhand stand with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and expressed optimism that the BJP will sweep victory in the tribal state in the upcoming assembly elections.
This comes after former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on June 29 slammed the BJP for allegedly hatching a conspiracy against him and claimed that the saffron party will be wiped out from the state after the upcoming assembly polls.
The JMM leader alleged that the BJP has controlled all constitutional establishments but people taught them a lesson in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections.
"It has come to my knowledge that they are making plans to prepone assembly elections. I dare them to conduct the elections any day they wish to. The BJP's dream of winning assembly elections in Jharkhand will be 'Mungerilal ke Haseen Sapne'. The BJP is naming tribals as CMs in several states but they are just rubber stamps," Hemant Soren said.
Reacting to former Jharkhand CM Soren's 'Mungeri Lal Ke Haseen Sapne' remark, Pabitra Margherita said, "He, (Hemant Soren) has the all right to speak in any kind of way, but the thing is that like the neighbouring state of Odisha the people of Jharkhand are also going to give support BJP in Jharkhand for a Viksit Bharat."
"I think the people of Jharkhand will stand with BJP and PM Modi's ideology of Viksit Bharat. We think that the dream will come true. Whatever Mungeri Lal or someone else, the dream will come true. The people of Jharkhand are with BJP and they will continue to be with BJP," Pabitra Margherita said.
Adding further, he said, "Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is also one of the convenors of this election engineering in Jharkhand and to the best of my information, the people of Jharkhand are with BJP. I am confident that from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and from Gujarat to Northeast all are with NDA and this time the people of Jharkhand will give their blessings to BJP, we are very much optimistic and confident."
Talking about the recent meeting with Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma, the MoS of External Affairs said that, it was just a courtesy meeting.
"The Chief Minister called on respective ministers and he visited my office also. He is a respectful leader of Northeast and there was no official discussion and no certain topic was discussed officially. We love him because he is one of the stalwart leaders of Northeast," Pabitra Margherita said.
Meanwhile, JMM leader Soren was released on June 28 from the Birsa Munda Jail after the state high court granted bail to him in a money laundering case, observing that he was prima facie not guilty, and there was no likelihood of the petitioner committing an offence on bail.
Soren was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on January 31 in connection with its investigation into a land scam case.
