New Delhi [India], September 10 : Delhi Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party, saying the only job of the BJP is to topple elected governments.
This statement comes after Delhi BJP President Vijender Gupta, along with seven other MLAs, requested the President Murmu dismiss the AAP government in Delhi.
"BJP has just one job - toppling elected governments. Wherever the BJP doesn't win, it tries to poach MLAs and form a government through the back door. They attempted the same in BJP but could not succeed. They could not purchase MLAs of AAP and topple the government. So, they have started another conspiracy now - of toppling the elected government of Delhi," AAP leader Atishi said
She further stated that BJP will win zero seats in the upcoming Delhi assembly elections.
"But I would like to tell the BJP that people of Delhi are watching everything. People know that if there is anyone who works for them, it is Arvind Kejriwal...If BJP conspires and topples Arvind Kejriwal government, in the upcoming election, people of Delhi will give them a befitting reply...If there will be Presidential Rule, BJP will win zero (assembly) seats next time. I can say this confidently," Atishi added.
Earlier today, Delhi BJP President Vijender Gupta, along with seven other MLAs wrote a letter to President Draupadi Murmu and urged for her "urgent intervention" in the alleged constitutional crisis plaguing Delhi.
The letter has been sent to the Ministry of Home Affairs "for appropriate attention."
On August 30, a delegation of members of the Delhi Legislative Assembly led by Leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta on Friday appealed to President Droupadi Murmu for urgent intervention in the alleged constitutional crisis in Delhi.
The delegation met the President and submitted a memorandum on Friday highlighting a series of concerns about the functioning of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government under Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
The delegation members, consisting of MLAs Mohan Singh Bisht, Om Prakash Sharma, Ajay Mahawar, Abhay Verma, Anil Bajpai, Jitender Mahajan, Kartar Singh Tanwar, and former Delhi minister Rajkumar Anand, urged President Murmu to dismiss the current AAP government under Article 356 of the Constitution.
In the memorandum submitted to the President, it was stated that critical orders that require the Chief Minister's signature have been kept pending with no urgency to resolve the matter. The memorandum further claimed that the situation has led to a "complete breakdown of governance in Delhi."
