BJP's Sunil Jakhar to hold meetings to review LS poll performance, prepare strategy for by-elections

Chandigarh (Punjab) [India], June 14 : Punjab Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Sunil Jakhar will hold a series of meetings on Saturday at the state headquarters in Chandigarh's Sector 37-A, to review the performance of Lok Sabha elections 2024 and to prepare strategy and discuss the forthcoming by-elections elections, said BJP Punjab General Secretary Rakesh Rathour.
The day-long meetings will be chaired by Jakhar in the presence of prominent leaders, including Vijay Rupani, Ex CM Gujarat and In-Charge of BJP Punjab; Narinder Singh Raina, Co-In-Charge of BJP Punjab; and Manthri Srinivasulu, State General Secretary Organisation.
The leaders will discuss key agendas, including by-elections, upcoming local body elections, and public programmes, ensuring a comprehensive approach to the electoral strategy. The meeting also aims to ensure robust preparation and coordination among the party members.
At 11 am on June 15, the first meeting will be held with the Lok Sabha candidates, followed by a meeting with district presidents at 12:30 pm. The joint meeting of the state core group, Lok Sabha in-charge and co-in-charge, Lok Sabha coordinator, and co-coordinator will begin at 3 pm and the meeting of the state core group will only be held at 5 pm, concluded Rathour.
Congress leader Manish Tewari secured victory against Sanjay Tandon with 2,504 votes in Chandigarh. Tewari garnered 2,16,657 votes, while Tandon received 2,14,153 votes.
The declaration of results of the 18th Lok Sabha election in the 543-member Parliament saw the BJP-led NDA winning 294 seats and the INDIA bloc bagging 234 seats.
